2019 Snowmobile Lineup

Coming This December

Check out our brand new Polaris, Arctic Cat and Ski-Doo snowmobiles for self guided rentals. Renting your own equipment is much more affordable than a tour! Quality gear and trailers are included in the rental price and tow vehicles are available for rent. Our knowledgeable staff can provide you with maps, directions and tips on any of our local riding areas.  We’ve got you covered for anything from family trail riding to hard-core performance riding!

How Does a Self-Guided Snowmobile Rental Work vs. a Guided Tour?

At Jackson Hole Adventure Rentals we specialize in Self-Guided Snowmobile Rentals. We provide all of the equipment, maps and directions as well as local knowledge required to send you on your own snowmobile adventure. Out of our Jackson location you will tow a trailer loaded with your equipment to one of our many trail-head options including the popular Granite Hot Springs or the extensive trail network inside of the Bridger Teton National Forest. We can provide a complete package including a tow vehicle if you do not have a vehicle capable of towing.  If you would prefer not to trailer the snowmobiles to a trail-head out of Jackson we offer our Alpine location with direct ride on access to the Grey’s River Trail system. Our Self Guided tours are great for every skill level including beginner up to expert. At Jackson Hole Adventure rentals we work hard to provide your friends and family with an affordable option to expensive guided tours.

A Guided tour is a great option for groups that are looking to take less responsibility for their adventure. Guided tours typically include multiple groups of guests headed to a preset destination. They are priced per guest vs. being priced per machine and include lunch, transportation to and from the ridding area as well as fuel included.Typically guided tours are 2-3x the price of a self guided tour not including the guides tip!

We do not currently offer guided tours due to permitting requirements.  For a Guided tour Please check out Old Faithful tours

How Old do Drivers and Passengers Need to Be?

From our experience we suggest drivers be at least 16 to ride by themselves. Our crossover/performance/high performance sleds are designed to be ridden by one rider only. If you are looking for a double seat machine you will need a touring sled.

My son/daughter rides their own sled at home but, they are not 16 can they ride their own?

We leave this up to the discretion of the parent or guardian. If under 18 they must have a parent/guardian release form signed.

What is a Tow Vehicle? Age Requirements?

Out of our Jackson location you are required to tow the snow machines to a trail-head.  If you do not have a vehicle that can tow we can provide one for you for $50+tax per day. Our tow vehicles are used for single day rentals only. If you plan on a multiple day rental we offer both Mid-Size and Large SUVs for towing.

You must be 21 or older in order to rent a tow vehicle. If you are an international guest or do not have full coverage car insurance we offer an optional $24 per day $1,000.00 deductible damage waiver on the tow vehicle.

Tow vehicles will leave full of fuel and will need to be returned fully fueled. Our tow vehicles are typically a Suburban or a crew cab truck.

Our Tow vehicles can tow from 1 snow machine up to 6 snow machines.

What is the Difference between the National Park and National Forest?

The National Forest provides the most access  with the least amount of restrictions for self-guided snow machine rentals. For our rentals out of Jackson and Alpine our trail-heads are located inside of the Bridger-Teton National Forest system. At both locations we provide detailed maps and directions based on your preferred riding area.

The National Park system offers limited self guiding options and includes Yellowstone and the Grand Teton National park. To operate in these parks you need to have a BAT (Best approved technology) snow machine as well as a proper permit issued by the National Park service. These permits are done based on a lottery system typically in the October/ November time period.  If you do not have a permit and wish to visit Yellowstone you will need to take a Guided Tour. We do not offer guided tours. For this please contact Old Faithful Snowmobile Tours

Why would I choose Alpine over Jackson? Or Vice versa

Jackson Hole Adventure Rentals offers two locations to better serve our guests.

Our Jackson Hole location offers great access to both the Granite Hot Springs trail system and the extensive trail network at Togwotee. Out of our Jackson location you are required to tow the snow machines to the trail systems. Our shop is located  on the south side of town in Jackson Hole between the Albertsons and Smiths grocery stores. The Granite Hot Springs trail system is located 22 miles South of our shop. Togwotee is located 50 miles North of our shop. We offer only full day rentals out of our Jackson location.

Our shop in Alpine Wyoming is located a mile away from the Grey’s River Trail system inside the Bridger Teton National Forest.  You can ride directly out of our shop onto the trail system. We offer both 1/2 and full day options out of this location due to the shop being so close to the trail head. This is a great option for those that would prefer not to trailer, load, or unload the the snow machines. Alpine is located 35 miles south of Jackson with a beautiful drive through the Snake River Canyon.

Both locations offer a wide variety of skill level ridding. From beginner to experienced mountain riding our customer service agents can point you in the right direction.

We rented a snowmobile for the day and took it up to Granite Hot Springs. We had an amazing day on the trail, but it all started with the incredibly friendly and helpful staff at Jackson Hole Adventure Rentals. We were so impressed with their machines and service that we came back the very next day and rented an SUV. If you want to be on your own time (without a guide), we would highly suggest renting from Jackson Hole Adventure Rentals.

Absolutely FANTASTIC experience with Jackson Hole Adventure Rentals! Myself, my wife and a local friend rented 3 snowmobiles and a tow vehicle for 3 days of riding in Togwotee Pass over Super Bowl weekend 2018. It was an amazing experience. JHAR rented us new 2018 high performance sleds…not that junk you sometimes see at other rental places…and the prices were very reasonable. Along with the machines, the riding gear was new as well…again much higher quality than we were expecting from our previous rental experience in Colorado. This place is high efficiency as well…we walked in, did all our paperwork, got our gear and drove off on our pre-loaded truck/trailer setup in ~35 minutes. This was while a group of about a dozen dudes showed up without reservations for a day rental and messed up the flow. again, I’m super pleased with the OVERALL experience, attention to detail, quality of equipment and cost. I’d highly recommend JHAR for your snowmobiling vacation in the Jackson Hole area…extremely impressed. Highly recommend renting here and trailering to Togwotee…the riding there is EPIC! We’ll be back next year for sure!

You can spend a day or several enjoying 177 miles of groomed trails that wind through some of Wyoming’s most breathtaking scenery. 1. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I’m afraid of heights, so they told me which trails to take with my buddies so that I don’t have a panic attack. The trails we took were in the valley, between mountains, with the best “winter” views I’ve ever seen: large snow capped mountains blanketed in pine trees, sunlight glistening off the river. I felt as if I was having my own “Forest Gump” adventure.

2. The snowmobile trails are groomed but there is more than enough open space and powder next to the mapped out trails.

3. They give you all the snowmobile equipment (helmet, goggles, boots, pants, coats, backpack, gloves). Really comfortable and made me feel like a pro.

4. The main trail leads you to Box Y Lodge, a small cabin resort which is only accessible by snowmobile in the winter. We got some hearty food, petted horses!!!, and enjoyed the sights. It was the first time ever that I experienced “living”, albeit for an hour, in the country.

5. We took a snowmobiling rental in Whistler, BC, in which we followed a guide, could not go fast, uninteresting scenery. But, here, we could do whatever we wanted, could go as fast as we want, and had hours of “wow” scenery, all for less price than what we paid for in Whistler. I was not expecting it, but I felt that, after going here, I could cross something off my bucket list.

6. I’m not usually compelled to write a review on Trip Advisor. But this is one of those places which people have to know about.
